Actor Salman Khan's [Images] lawyers on Wednesday filed an appeal seeking suspension of his five-year sentence in the chinkara poaching case.
Sessions Judge G S Mehta will take up the appeal for hearing on Thursday.
This means the actor will have to remain behind bars for one more night at the Jodhpur Central Jail.
This is the actor's third consecutive day in prison after Jodhpur Chief Judicial Magistrate Brijendra Kumar Jain sentenced him to five years rigorous imprisonment in the poaching case on Monday.
Salman's counsel H M Saraswat filed the 44-page application, which included 38 judicial points challenging the verdict of the chief judicial magistrate.
Renowned advocate S R Bajwa and Dipesh Mehta, a lawyer from Mumbai, also appeared in the court on behalf of the actor.
Salman and five others were charged with killing a Chinkara in September 1998 at Ghora farmhouse near Jodhpur.
