Saif Ali Khan, who underwent an emergency appendectomy on Thursday evening in Kuala Lampur, is fine now.
"But for a while, it was touch-and-go," says Saif, who is recuperating in a Kuala Lampur hospital. "I suddenly had this acute pain. I didn't know what was happening to me. Anything could have happened. I'm told my appendix could have burst if it hadn't been looked into in time."
"Thank god it's over. I'll be out of the hospital in two days. For three weeks, I have to do no strenuous work," he adds.
The only shooting that has been affected is Vishal Bhardwaj's Othello. The director has two more days' work with Saif on the film's sets in the outskirts of Mumbai. Saif was supposed to return from Kuala Lampur on Friday to re-join Bhardwaj's crew. But now, the director will shoot Saif's remaining portion in Mumbai whenever possible.
"Thank god he's all right," says Bhardwaj. "He informed me from Kuala Lampur before the surgery. I am shooting with Kareena Kapoor [Images] and the others now."
