Monday morning did not begin well for actor Shakti Kapoor; National Students Union of India activists blackened his face at Nagpur airport.
The NSUI is a Congress students organisation.
The actor said some students approached him, saying they wanted to honour him with a garland and a tilak.
Kapoor, who was scheduled to perform in the city, accepted their invitation.
"They requested me to wait, saying another group of students was coming to meet me."
Kapoor agreed. "I knew people had heard of my arrival in Nagpur, but I wasn't aware of the intention of these students. They had a bottle of blue ink with them. They poured the entire bottle on me and started shouted slogans like NSUI zindabad, (Long live the NSUI)" says the stunned actor.
Kapoor suspects the students were upset with him because of the India TV sting operation, where he was trapped asking for sexual favours.
