Veteran filmmaker Subodh Mukherjee, who made memorable Hindi films like Paying Guest, Muneemji and Junglee, died at a Mumbai hospital early on Saturday following a prolonged illness, family sources said.
He was 84.
The director-producer was suffering from blood cancer for the past few months, his nephew Rono Mukherjee said.
Mukherjee has to his credit several box office hits like Love Marriage, April Fool, Shagird, Romeo and Sharmilee.
He his survived by wife Kamala, sons Subhash and Sanjay, and a daughter, who is in US.
