Nick Clooney, the Democratic candidate for the US Congress in Kentucky's 4th District, has raised over $600,000 for his campaign courtesy his son, a certain George Clooney. The star of Ocean's Eleven, who spent last weekend campaigning with his father in New York and Washington, DC, said he several other Hollywood actors, including the likes of Renee Zellweger, Michael Douglas and Matt Damon helped him raise the money, said the New York Daily News.
The actor looks forward to being the son of a US Congressman. 'Yeah, I want a lot of favors. Would you do that for me?' he asked his father.
'George, you're getting nothing from me,' Nick Clooney replied.
'I knew it! "It's just like growing up with him,' joked the man once dubbed the sexiest man in the universe, who is sporting a beard for his role as a CIA agent in Syriana.
But Nick, 69, a former Cincinnati newspaper columnist and newscaster, said though George was a big draw, he doesn't want his son to become a politician.
'He has to keep working; he's my retirement plan,' the father joked.
