Singapore: Watch films. Break records!

rediff.com Entertainment Bureau | July 26, 2004 15:53 IST

How many films can you watch in a row?

Five?

Ten?

Fifteen?

That's not good enough if you go by the standards of three Singapore men, who saw over 36 Hollywood films in 72 hours, reports Channel News Asia.

24 contestants were made to sit through a mixed bag of boring and interesting films, organised by Daniel Simon, CEO of Hollywood Clicks.

The participants were given a five-minute break 'between the movies' and a 15-minute recess after every three films.

The winners of the competition -- Michael Chia, Norman Oman and Fadzli Hussen -- drank coffee, ate sour lemon and pinched each other to sit through 72 hours of films, adds the report.

Good enough for a place in The Guinness Book of World Records, you think?

Though the global judge at the Guinness hasn't confirmed it, the possibility is high.

It is reported that the record was previously held by a group in New York who indulged in a non-stop session of viewing films for 66 hours and 30 minutes.
