Karan Johar's next film has no songs!

Karan JoharCan you imagine a Karan Johar film without music?

Just when you thought it was an impossibility, Johar has announced his latest production, a songless thriller to be directed by one of his assistants, Soham Shah.

The tentative cast, according to indiafm.com, is Ajay Devgan, John Abraham and Shahid Kapoor. But Johar clarifies that none of the actors have heard the script yet.

Unlike his earlier superhit production, Kal Ho Naa Ho, where he penned the script, the script for the thriller has been written entirely by Shah.

Vivek woos Ash in Timbuktu!

Aishwarya RaiWhile on indiafm.com, another snippet claims that after Samir Karnik's Kyon...! Ho Gaya Na, Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi will team up together for another film.

Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, the film is titled Timbuktu. It will be based on a novel, Pas de Quatre, penned by Australian writer IAR Wylie.

Meanwhile, Bharadwaj's upcoming film Maqbool is slated for a January 30 release. The film stars Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Irfan Khan and Pankaj Kapur.

Hamari Lucy Ball Sridevi!

SrideviAfter delighting audiences for almost three decades, Sridevi returns to the spotlight with Sahara Television's Hamari Bahu Malini Iyer.

The serial will see her do a Lucy Ball, as she plays a South Indian married into a Punjabi family. According to b4utv.com, the actress said she could easily identify with the character because she was a South Indian herself.

It is directed by Satish Kaushik, who has earlier directed her in Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, costarring Anil Kapoor.

The serial will air on Indian television from January 19 every Monday and Tuesday at 0900 hours.

Mandira Bedi's Divorce

Mandira BediAfter signing husband Raj Kaushal's (Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi) second venture Shaadi Ke Laddoo, Mandira Bedi has bagged a Hindi film, Divorce.

Bedi, who became famous overnight following the Extra Innings show during the cricket World Cup 2003, had acted in Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

According to mid-day.com, Bedi claims that she plays a television journalist in Divorce. Sonu Sood plays her husband. The film also stars Jackie Shroff.
