Salman-Kareena's Punjabi nikaah!

rediff.com Entertainment Bureau | April 21, 2004 09:41 IST

Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan and Sohail KhanGuess what Sohail Khan is up to these days.

Instead of moping over the failure of his last release, Krishna Cottage, the director-turned-actor is planning a new film!

To be directed by Sohail himself, the film is titled, unusually, My Punjabi Nikaah, a report on indiafm.com says.

It may be recalled that Sohail has four films to his credit as director — Auzaar, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Hello Brother, and Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. The first three featured big brother Salman Khan in the lead role.

Salman stars in My Punjabi Nikaah as well. His leading lady will be Kareena Kapoor. The two were earlier signed on together to work in Ketan Desai's Jalwa, also starring Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. But that film never took off.

Sohail is now in Russia shooting for his home production Lucky.

In My Punjabi Nikaah, Salman essays the role of a nawab's son while Kareena plays a judge's daughter.

The website quotes Sohail saying, "It's a love story with plenty of light moments."

Any bets as to whether it is a remake of My Big Fat Greek Wedding?
