Hot, hot Rani this May!

Rani Mukerji in Yuva and Hum Tum

Rani Mukerji is one happy 26-year-old these days.

The actress has two big summer releases -- Yuva and Hum Tum coming up.

Both the films have Rani in a contrasting avatar.

In Yuva, the actress plays the character of a Bengali girl married to Abhishek Bachchan.  It may be recalled she played a Bengali character in Kamal Haasan's Hey! Ram as well.

With Yuva, Rani finally gets an opportunity to work with director Mani Ratnam. The stunner was approached to do a role in Dil Se.., but things didn't materialise.Yuva will enjoy a world premiere in May at the forthcoming IIFA awards in Singapore.

Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Kunal Kohli (Mujhse Dosti Karoge), Hum Tum is the desi adaptation of Hollywood's classic romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally. The film pairs her with Saif Ali Khan. Although this is the first time the duo is working together, they shared screen space for a couple of seconds in the Mahive song of Kal Ho Naa Ho, where Rani and cousin Kajol made a special appearance.

Following Yuva and Hum Tum -- which are scheduled to release on May 21 and May 28 respectively -- watch out for Rani in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black and Bajirao Mastani, Ketan Mehta's 1857: The Rising and Yash Chopra's untitled film.

Recently in an interview to Bombay Times, Ab Tak Chhappan star Nana Patekar expressed his intention to sign Rani for one of the roles in a film he is planning to direct and act in. Titled Jumman, the film is inspired from a Marathi play by S N Pendse. Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha, Preity Zinta and Raghuvir Yadav are a few other actors he is contemplating to approach.

So will the hot, hot Rani spare a few dates for the hotheaded Nana?
