Nicholas Cage is one of Hollywood's most versatile actors. The many roles he has played include an alcoholic in Leaving Las Vegas, an angel in City Of Angels and a paranoid chemical scientist in The Rock. In his new movie, Matchstick Men, Cage plays a disturbed conman.

The Ridley Scott comedy premiered at a gala screening at the Toronto International Film Festival 2003. The film also features Alison Lohman (as Cage's daughter) and Sam Rockwell (as Cage's protégée).

Cage says he enjoys playing idiosyncratic characters: 'I'm interested in imperfections because I feel that imperfections get closer to the truth,' Pulse24.com reports him as saying at a press conference.
