| May has failed to bring any respite to the hit-starved Hindi film industry.
Regardless of the ongoing deadlock between producers and distributors -- several big releases like Ram Gopal Varma's Bhoot and Suneel Darshan's Andaaz were delayed as a result -- Mahesh Manjrekar decided to release his women-oriented Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye. Unfortunately for Manjrekar, his strategy backfired -- PJPSNJ opened to below-average response. Note: Films are ranked on the basis of their performance at the box office every week. Though a film may be declared a flop, it may have performed better than other films that week.  |
