Two years ago, when A R Rahman quietly introduced an English number he had composed for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Bombay Dreams at his American concerts, the song was politely received. People did not know what to make of his Journey home number. On March 29, nearly 10,000 people heard the same song at New York's Nassau Coliseum, where Rahman was performing. And the applause was electrifying.
