Padma Lakshmi believes in shaking a leg when it comes to High Society.

Earlier this week, she was spotted splashing a voluptuous expanse of thigh in the company of her boyfriend, author Salman Rushdie, at a London summer party.

The 'top people's' fundraiser at London's Serpentine Gallery, which raised £10,000, was also attended by the likes of socialite Jemima Khan, sculptor Anish Kapoor and Elton John's partner David Furnish.

Reports that Lakshmi and the 56-year-old Rushdie had separated were denied earlier this year when the couple wrote a letter to a leading London newspaper stating, 'We remain together and in love.'

Rushdie, author of Midnight's Children, The Satanic Verses, The Ground Beneath Her Feet and Fury, has been married three times and has a 23-year-old son.

He was sentenced to death by Iranian Islamic hardliners -- at the behest of the late Ayatollah Khomeini -- after he published The Satanic Verses and has lived under British police protection ever since.

Although the threat to his life has diminished following Khomeini's death, he is said to remain under discreet police surveillance.

Padma Lakshmi will soon debut in Bollywood with Kaizad Gustad's Boom! The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Bo Derek, Zeenat Aman and models Katrina Kaif and Madhu Sapre.
