Manisha, Nair tender unconditional apology
Ek Chhotisi Love Story will finally release
|
The Mumbai High Court on Thursday accepted the unconditional apology of actress Manisha Koirala and filmmaker Shashilal Nair. Justice R M Lodha and Justice Dilip Bhosale dismissed Koirala's appeal against the September 5 High Court order rejecting her plea to delete objectionable shots in Ek Chhotisi Love Story and restraining producer Shashilal Nair from releasing the film until the settlement of dispute raised by the actress.
The judges cleared the all-India release of the film after they dismissed Manisha's appeal. They objected to the actress approaching Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray to mediate despite the matter being subjudice. They also objected to Manisha approaching the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The judges also dismissed her appeal on the grounds that the order was not capable of being enforced as the prints of the film had already been released all over and its video rights sold.
Justices R M Lodha and Dilip Bhosale dropped the contempt proceedings as both of them tendered unconditional apology.
