Kaizad's angels!

Priyanka Bhattacharya

Kaizad Gustad The fashion world meets the underworld and - BOOM - all hell breaks loose.

What happens when three sexy, international supermodels try to outwit three notorious dons from the underworld? Boom... you have Kaizad Gustad’s latest offering to cinema.

Almost four years after the immensely popular Bombay Boys, Gustad is back with a new script, a new cast and not to forget, a new look. [his famous locks having been cropped.]

This time around he’s roped in real life supermodels Padma Lakshmi, Katrina Kaif and Madhu Sapre who take on Bade mia, Medium mia and Chote mia; the underworld gangsters represented by Gulshan Grover and Jackie Shroff. The identity of the third don has not yet been revealed. It is expected to be kept a secret till the release of the film.

The underworld seems to have become an integral part of Gustad's films. [Naseeruddin Shah played a don in Bombay Boys]. Says Gustad, who has also written the screenplay of Boom, "the underworld is very fascinating. They are so colourful and make good subjects for films."

To be produced by Ayesha Shroff (Jackie Shroff's wife), the film will have music composed by Talvin Singh. The film will also feature noted actress Seema Biswas as Bharti and Javed Jaffery as Boom Shankar.

When asked about the remarkable similarities between Boom and Bombay Boys, Gustad said, "they are similar in sensibility and genre but the stories are completely different. I had always wanted to do something on the fashion industry and this was the perfect opportunity."Gulshan Grover, Madhu Sapre, Ayesha Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Katrina Kaif, Padma Lakshmi, Seema Biswas and Javed Jafferi

Taking his interest in the fashion industry a step further, Gustad has roped in real life designers Anna Singh, Hemant Trivedi, Malani Ramani, Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani and Wendell Rodricks to play themselves in the movie.

The story's ready, the cast is fixed and the enthusiasm level is very high with everyone just raring to go. Described as a slick, sexy and stylish film, Boom goes on the floors on April 22 and is scheduled for a Christmas 2002 release.
