The Hyundai finally launches the Grand i10 at a special event in New Delhi. Without wasting any time, let’s plunge into the details.
The Grand i10′s wheelbase is 100mm longer than its European counterpart, which launches at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.
Also specific to India is the rear air conditioner vents, a two-tone beige and black interior and a wider rear window.
The diesel variant has an average of 24kmpl while the petrol delivers 18.9 kmpl.

The exterior design of the Hyundai Grand i10 is defined by swept back headlamps, chrome surrounded fog lamps, chrome radiator grill, integrated roof rails, diamond cut alloy wheels and wrap around taillamps. The aerodynamic drag coefficient (Cd) stands at 0.35.
Moving indoors, the Grand i10 gets a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, console mounted gear shift lever, integrated 2-DIN MP3 player with 1GB inbuilt storage, USB and AUX-IN ports, driver seat height adjustment, smart key with push button start, cooled glovebox and 256 liters of boot space. ABS and dual airbags are offered on select variants.

Other noteworthy features are rear parking sensors, rear power outlet, tilt steering and rear wiper.
The big-selling engine variant would have to be the new 1.1-litre 2nd generation U2 CRDI diesel engine that develops 71PS @ 4,000rpm and 163Nm @ 1,500-2,750rpm.
This engine delivers a class-leading mileage of 24kmpl (ARAI approved) and is Euro V emission norm ready. It is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The other engine is the 1.2L Kappa dual VTVT petrol engine that generates 83PS @ 6,000rpm and 116Nm @ 4,000 RPM.
This engine has an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.9 kmpl and comes paired to 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearboxes.
Variants are classified as Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta.
