Zee group Chief Subhash Chandra on Saturday met Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and discussed the role media and entertainment industry can play in improving Indo-Pak relations.

During his three-day visit to Pakistan, the media tycoon also called on Punjab province Chief Minister Choudhary Pervez Ilahi in Lahore.

When contacted, Zee spokesperson Ashish Kaul told PTI that "Chandra paid a courtesy call to President Musharraf this morning.

"During the discussion, he impressed upon the President the role media and entertainment industry can play in bringing the two nations closer".

Chandra also met a number of media and entertainment industry personalities as part of efforts to enhance the group's business.

Zee TV is the first bouquet of entertainment channels from India available in Pakistan with a significant viewership and "we are now looking at exploring all options to enhance he group's revenue from the neighbouring country," Kaul said.

During his interaction with various personalities, Chandra also impressed upon the need to address the menace of piracy afflicting the entertainment industry in the two nations, while suggesting a joint initiative be looked into.

Zee is also open to forge partnerships in Pakistan as part of its business initiatives, Kaul said, adding, "We are open to any kind of partnership. Entertainment knows no boundaries."

Asked to elaborate, he said this may happen over a period of time.
