Zee Telefilms Q4 net at Rs 33 cr

Zee Telefilms has posted a 135 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 32.57 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2003 when compared with Rs 13.88 crore for the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

Total income has increased 9 per cent to Rs 150.98 crore (Rs 1.5 billion) from Rs 139.01 crore (Rs 1.39 billion), the company said in a release to the BSE on Monday.

The company has posted a 10 per cent decrease in net profit to Rs 87.49 crore for FY03 as against Rs 97.26 crore in FY02.

Total income has increased 3 per cent to Rs 497.44 crore (Rs 4.97 billion) from Rs 483.21 crore (Rs 4.83 billion).

As per the consolidated results, the group has posted a net profit of Rs 53.93 crore for the quarter when compared with Rs 52.83 crore for the same quarter last year.

Total revenue has increased to Rs 392.29 crore (Rs 3.92 billion) from Rs 338.84 crore (Rs 3.38 billion).

The group has posted a net profit of Rs 227.03 crore (Rs 2.27 billion) for FY03 as against Rs 194.60 crore for FY02 (Rs 1.94 billion).

For the next year business environment continues to be challenging for advertising revenues, which is dependent on macro economic factors and business confidence of the major advertisers, the release said.

The company remains confident of the continued expansion in subscription revenues. It does not anticipate any lasting impact of the Cricket World Cup on advertising revenues, which is evident in the few weeks since the culmination of the event, the release added.
