Xenitis to open 12 labs in Gujarat

The Rs 523 crore (Rs 5.23 billion) Xenitis group of companies has set its foot in Gujarat by opening its first office of training and education centre in Vadodara recently.

Arun Xavier Biswas, national manager of Xenitis Technolab (XTPL), said, "We will further expand our presence in the state by reaching up to 12 centres by the end of 2006."

In the first phase, XTPL intend to open up centres at the metro cities like Rajkot, Surat and Ahmedabad and in the second phase, it will enter villages. 

"In the next couple of months, we will come up with another three centres in Gujarat," he added. Currently, the company has 40 training centres across the country.

Further Biswas, said, "We have noticed over the years that the demand for trained professionals in the hardware and network servicing sector has been constantly increasing. With such high demand we expect to generate annual revenue of Rs 10 crore (Rs 100 million) from our national operation".

Where as the company expects to generate Rs 2 crore (Rs 20 million) by the end of 2006-07 from its Gujarat operation, he added. Quoting the Nasscom figures, Biswas said, "By 2010, the country will need at least 75,000 hardware and networking engineers."

The company claims that its institution will be better equipped then others as it has the back-up of its parent company Xenitis group. 

"The students will get real and hands-on experience during the training period at our manufacturing and R&D laboratory", said Biswas. 

The company is also empathising on the campus recruitment and will make arrangement to absorb students in IT-based companies through its own network of clients. 

XTPL is well known for its low priced personal computer with brands like Aamchi PC in Western India, Aapna PC in the Northern India, Namma PC in Southern india and Amar PC in Eastern India. It had a turnover of Rs 523 crore (Rs 5.23 billion) for FY05-06.
