The vessel, which sails throughout the year, has 150 apartments on board and gives the option to its multi-millionaire occupants to travel around the globe without having to leave their homes.
The apartments can also be rented out. This is the first visit of the ship to India. It would be touching Goa and Mumbai ports as well before leaving for the Far East.
According to the Travel Corporation of India, the official agents handling the ship at the Kochi-Goa-Mumbai ports, about 81 passengers have flown to Delhi to board the 'Palace on wheels' to Rajasthan and would be joining the ship in Mumbai.
Some others have preferred to admire the virgin beaches of North Kerala and some are cruising the backwaters. The ship will sail for Goa from Kochi on April 3 midnight. It has fully furnished apartments of 1600 sq feet each.
The Bahamian vessel is manned by 233-member crew. The ship has four restaurants - 'Portraits' featuring haute cusine and menus, 'East' offers a delightful selection of Asian delicacies, 'Tides' gives a Mediterranean cuisine with an Italian fair and 'Marina' features an open kitchen where traditional and seafood dishes are available.
