Nasdaq-listed Wind River Systems, Inc. a global leader in device software optimisation, and Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership that will more closely align Wind River's leading DSO products and device design services with Wipro's product engineering services portfolio.
Joint customers of Wind River and Wipro will now have access to a larger team of development engineers trained on the latest Wind River DSO product lines, thereby enabling them to develop and run device software faster, better, at a lower cost and more reliably.
This strategic partnership furthers the long standing bi-lateral customer relationship between the two companies which began in 1998.
"This strategic alliance will enable us to be more closely aligned with Wind River's product roadmap, giving us a distinct competitive advantage over other service providers," said Rajesh Mishra, vice president, Embedded & Product Engineering Solutions, Wipro Technologies.
"Wipro's insight and deep knowledge of Wind River's products, along with our extensive knowledge in various embedded domains, will expedite development and deployment of Wind River's new platforms."
Wind River has provided world-class device design services for more than 20 years, and this partnership will enable our customers to take advantage of a global services capability that spans Wind River's design services focused primarily on operating system, middleware and hardware development to Wipro's services focused on device software application and turnkey reference design development.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wind River will provide extensive training to Wipro's engineering team on Wind River's DSO product line including Wind River Workbench and the Wind River Platforms.
Additionally, the partnership will enable Wipro to influence Wind River's product roadmap and will create new business opportunities for both companies via cross-referrals. Wind River and Wipro's joint customers will benefit from the tighter alignment between Wipro's industry leading design services and Wind River's industry leading DSO technology solutions.
Wipro Technologies is the world's largest independent provider of R&D services. Wipro provides embedded design services for customers in automotive, consumer electronics, avionics, telecom and networking, many of whom use Wind River platforms and tools for their products.
