Wipro in pact with Red Hat to offer linux

IT company Wipro Infotech on Monday announced a tie-up with Red Hat to offer Linux services in India.

With this collaboration, Wipro Infotech can offer customers cost-efficient and scalable solutions built around Linux platforms, Wipro said in a release.

Apart from providing basic services, the company would offer application, migration, upgrade, desktop services and enterprise management services to Linux customers.

The company would also provide consulting resources to choose solutions that enable optimal

performance, improve productivity and time to market and deliver a tangible return on investment.

T D Thandava Murthy, chief executive officer, Wipro Services said the company's offering would now become a one-stop shop for all customers, irrespective of the operating environment they use.

Javed Tapia, Red Hat India director said with this partnership, the company would be able to expand consulting and professional services capabilities required for assisting enterprises in incorporating Red Hat Enterprise Linux into their infrastructure.
