Minister for Communications, IT and Divestment Arun Shourie would lead a delegation to the World Economic Forum to be held in Davos (Switzerland) from January 20-25.

The conference is to be attended by political leaders, academicians and business leaders from various countries.

Shourie would address a session on 'Keeping India's engine revving' which would focus on India emerging as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, an official press release said in New Delhi on Monday.

In the brainstorming session that would follow, leaders from the government, business and civil society would meet in this year's World Trade Forum to sharpen their perceptions of the current trade situation and gain an insight into the forthcoming developments on various issues.

The session would use electronic voting technology to identify major concerns and to set priorities for a plan of action.

The outcome of the discussion would be presented in a session 'Can the WTO ultimately deliver the goods.' The minister would also participate in the interactive session entitled 'What if the largest emerging markets just keep growing and growing.'

The WEF plenary session titled 'The future of global interdependence' would be addressed by United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, President of Argentina Nestor Kirchner, Prime Minister of Canada Paul Martin, and Governor of Colorado Bill Owens.
