Value added service providers are adding more services to their stable as mobile users' base in the country grows at anĀ  unending pace - reported to reach 350 million by 2010.

VAS market, which might account for 9 per cent of the total mobility revenues in India, is dominated by revenues from SMS.

But its good days are yet to come. Analysts said that with the increase in data services under 2.5G and 3G, the VAS market will witness an exceptional growth. According to them, this will happen within four years. In fact, the market has already manifested signs of this change, they added.

Roamware, for example, has big plans for the coming year. The company plans to capture the market attention with its 'nextgen' products.

According to Manoj Pant, managing director, Roamware India, the company is scouting for partnerships with network operators for increasing revenues from non-roaming products. "By 2007, non-roaming products will account 40-50 per cent of our overall revenues," he said.
