V-Empower plays a role in US polls

Software applications developed by Hyderabad-based V-Empower Inc have been used by several websites in the United States for the presidential elections, according to the company's promoters.

The so-called 'political products' developed by the company, namely, Voter Registration, Absentee Ballot Request Application, Ride to Poll are said to have helped tremendously in encouraging the youth of America to be involved and play a key role in these elections.

According to Abdul Rehman, managing director of the company, at least one million voters were benefited from their products in exercising their franchise.

According to him, the Voter Registration allows individual citizens to register to vote online. Absentee Ballot Request Application allows citizens to request a ballot without going through a lengthy process of several steps and Ride to Poll allows citizens to get direction to their polling place from home.

With its headquarters in Bowie, Maryland, the company has developed these products through their only development centre in Hyderabad, which employs 48 software professionals.
