Revolutionising the Rs.8,500 crore (Rs 85 billion) Indian male apparel industry, Royal Classic Group of Classic Polo fame today commissioned its trouser plant, which produces the country's 'first ever wrinkle-free, ultra comfortable, auto-fit premium trouser,' at Tirupur, about 60 Km from Coimbatore.

Union Textile Minister Shankersinh Vaghela inaugurated the Rs 4 crore (Rs 40 million) plant, with a production capacity of 800 pairs of trousers per shift, at Vaagarai.

It is the first time in India that trousers are coming with an adjustable waist band (auto fit technology), which ensured perfect fit to every Indian shape, thus saving the consumer of the trouble of going for altering his readymade garment, R Sivaram, Executive Director of the Group, said.

The trousers with the brand name 'O' press, has been developed using the best cotton fabric enriched with Weishi technology (new wash technology) from China to produce the wrinkle-resistant

trouser that stays all day, he claimed.

Targeted at the core premium segment of the Indian male in the age bracket of 25-40 years, the range would comprise formals,semi-formals and smart casuals, Shivaram said, adding that the Company expected a Rs10 crore (Rs 100 million) turnover through its 1750 multi-brand outlets and 36 exclusive outlets in India.

'O'press had been engineered keeping in mind the changing market and the consumer preferences, Shivaram said the brand was bound to lift the trouser market to the next level leading to a paradigm shift in consumer perception.
