Carnage in markets: Trading suspended for 1 hour

The markets have moved deeper in the red on account of heavy selling seen in scrips across sectors.

The Sensex has fallen over 1000 points and the Nifty has fallen over 300 points.

At 11:56 am the Sensex was trading at 9827 down 1,112 points. The Nifty was trading at 2,896 down 350 points.

Trading has been suspended in the market for an hour as the market has hit the lower 10% circuit.

The market breadth was extremely negative, about 200 shares have advanced, 1780 shares declined, and 37 shares are unchanged.

All the BSE indices are trading in the negative terrain.
