An Rcom adAuditors appointed by the government to look into violation of revenue reporting norms are understood to have submitted the report on Reliance Communication. Their findings on other telecos would follow in the coming weeks.

The report on RCom would now be examined by a four-member committee of department of telecommunication, headed by member finance, sources said. The content of reports, howeever, were not divulged.

Government officials declined to comment on the issue. Also, it was not clear whether the special auditor detected any violations while scrutinising accounts of the Anil Ambani Group company.

The special audit was initiated to check if revenues by the company were diverted to segments that attracted lower licence fee.

The department of telecommunication had also ordered a similar special audit of four major telecom companies -- Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Tata Teleservices -- to ensure that there was no revenue loss to the exchequer.

In case of wrong doings detected during the audit, the operators could be subjected to penalties under the provisions of licences, sources said.
