On Friday, Road Transport Minister C P Joshi will join the list of public figures who have interacted with the public through multi-person video chat, Google Hangout.
The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that Joshi will interact with ‘people to discuss road safety issues tomorrow (March 29) at 7.30 pm via Google Hangout.
‘He will be taking the suggestions from people on road safety issues and the same can be viewed live on Ministry's You Tube Channel’.
Early this month, Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia had used the same platform to discuss various policy issues with the public.
While Chidambaram had used Google Hangout for public queries on Budget 2013-14, Ahluwalia used to it get a feedback on 12th Five Year Plan and other policy issues.
The trend had started with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who used this tech-savvy route some time back to interact with the general public.
Joshi's interaction will be streamed live on Road Transport Ministry's you tube channel, www.youtube.com/morthindia.
"During the course of dialogue people can share their views on (Transport) Ministry's Facebook page, Twitter handle and Google Plus page by checking at www.morth.nic.in," the statement said.
People can also use Twitter handle of the Transport Ministry (@MORTHIndia) and #morthhangout to tweet their suggestions and follow the event, it added.
