TCS to hire over 30,000 engineers

Tata Consultancy Services would this year recruit over 30,000 engineering graduates worldwide, a senior company official has said.

Delivering the 20th convocation address at Shanmugha Arts and Science Technology and Research Academy in Thanjavur, S Ramadorai, CEO and MD, said of the 30,000 odd new recruitments, most of them would be from India.

He appealed to Indian engineering graduates to continuously improve their software skills, language skills and multi-disciplinary know-how to stay ahead of others.

Stating that key to success was innovation, he said, "Tough environments give an opportunity to innovate and grow".

Quoting studies, he said that China would have a GDP growth of $44 trillion by 2015, leaving behind the United States with $38 trillion. India's GDP would also make a giant leap at $28 trillion by that year, he added.
