National Association of Software and Service Companies on Tuesday named Ratan Tata the Global Indian for 2008.
The Global Indian Award is given to a person who has had an impact on and contributed in some way to the growth of the Indian and global economy.
Willie Walsh, CEO, British Airways, bagged the Business Transformation Award for 2008, while John Chambers, Chairman, Cisco was awarded Business Leader.
The winners will be felicitated by Praful Patel, union minister for aviation, and Vilasrao Deshmukh, chief minister of Maharashtra, at an awards ceremony on February 14 in Mumbai, on the sidelines of the Nasscom 2008 India Leadership Forum.
