Tata Power said on Friday it has signed an agreement with Germany's Siemens Power Generation and Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries to bid for ultra mega power projects of up to 4,000 MW capacity.

"This agreement is a significant step towards our plans to bid for ultra mega projects by drawing on the expertise of
strong international partners like Siemens and Doosan," Tata Power Director Adi Engineer said.

The company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the consortium of Siemens and Doosan was a formidable combine for design and construction of
power plants based on super critical technology required for such large projects.

Tata Power has already submitted its Expression of Interest for four ultra mega power projects to Power Finance Corporation, which is the nodal agency for conducting the bidding process for these projects.

The company alongwith Siemens and Doosan would now sumbit its bid for the projects, it said.
