Tata Teleservices, which redefined the pre-paid market in India with its offer of unlimited validity, forcing all cellular operators to follow suit, today, came up with yet another initiative and launched a slew of schemes and tariff cuts for its Fixed Wireless users.

The company today introduced Home 2 Mobile 249 and Home 2 Mobile 349 tariff plans for its residential subscribers, and City 299, Silver 499 and Tata 600 tariff plans for its business customers.

For the first time, Tata Indicom Walky customers can call any mobile within the state at Rs 1.20 for 3 minutes, which is three times more talk time per call than the normal landline. These rates are applicable on the Home 2 Mobile tariff plan.

These tariffs plans are applicable for both existing and new post-paid customers and are available on existing Walky instruments, the company said.

The move comes close on the heels of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, the largest fixed line operator, reducing landline rentals by about 28 per cent.

Additionally, Reliance Infocomm and Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Ltd, the other players in the FWT space, are likely to respond with tariff cuts on similar lines, industry sources said.
