Tata Tele to invest Rs 500 cr in MP

Tata Teleservices on Wednesday launched its services in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Mandideep and Jabalpur.

The company plans to invest Rs 500 crore in the telecom sector in the state, its president Ajay Pandey said at the launch function in Bhopal.

The mobile, fixed wireless and public telephone booth services started in the five cities, would be extended to 21 towns including Itarasi, Dewas, Mhow, Ujjain, Nagda and Ratlam in the next two months, he said.

Unveiling the equipment, governor Balram Jahkar said expansion of communication, transport and energy sectors would accelerate development pace in the state.

Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, who was also present at the occasion, said the government was committed to developing communication and expanding transport sectors.

Investments in communication sector would immensely benefit the state, he said.
