Pune gets 1st Taj Gateway Hotel

Indian Hotels Company Ltd said on Tuesday it has entered into a management contract for a Gateway Hotel in Hinjewadi, Pune.

The contract has been entered into with Paranjpe Schemes Construction Limited and the new hotel will be a part of the Taj Business Hotels portfolio, a release stated.

Indian Hotels has strategically focussed on Hinjewadi for its second property as it is the fastest growing IT and bio-tech site in Pune with a large corporate clientele base.

The Gateway Hotel will be a 150-room mid-market hotel with a multi-cuisine

restaurant, a bar, banquet, meeting facilities and a health club. 

"The launch of our first Gateway Hotel in Pune is further to our endeavour of aggressive domestic expansion...this strategic move will help us consolidate our position in Pune which is one of our key cities in the domestic circuit," Jamshed S Dabboo, COO, Taj Business Hotels, said.

Paranjpe Schemes is one of the largest developers in Pune and has pioneered housing for senior citizens. The proposed project is the first hotel venture of the company.
