Swati Piramal is new president of Assocham

Swati Piramal, director of Piramal Healthcare, was elected president of Assocham on Friday. Piramal, who replaces Sajjan Jindal, was seenior vice-president of the industry body.

Harvard-educated Piramal is also in the boards of several companies, including Piramal Life Sciences, SBI Capital Markets Ltd and Prudential ICICI Management.

She has served on the scientific advisory committee of the prime minister, Assocham said.

Spice Corp Ltd and vice president of the chamber, Dilip Modi would now be the senior vice president of Assocham.

Rajkumar Dhoot, promoter of Videocon Group and a Rajya Sabha member, has been elected the new vice president.
