Banks to strike work on Oct 5-6

Nine bank unions seeking a wage revision have decided to go on a two-day strike on October 5 and 6.

All the nine major bank unions, which met in Mumbai on Wednesday, decided to observe a two-day strike on to protest the delay over wage revision, All India Bank Employees Association, joint secretary Lalit Nagda told PTI.

The unions -- AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEA, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO -- had on August 22 participated in a one-day
token strike.
