The Bombay Stock Exchange and Foreign Exchange market will remain closed today due to a terrorist attack in Mumbai.

The decision was taken by authorities after police sealed the area following heavy firing between security personnel and terrorists since last evening.

The settlement in today's derivative segment was also postponed.

The Multi Commodity Exchange and the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange will remain closed today, following the terrorist attacks in the city.

MCX's currency futures exchange MCX SX is also closed.

MCX managing director and CEO Joseph Massey said that following the government's advice to citizens to stay indoors, it has been decided to close both the MCX and the MCX SX today.

An NCDEX spokesperson said that the exchange would be shut today following the attacks.
