SpiceJet stock up 15% on stake sale reports

Shares of Spicejet soared nearly 15 per cent on Friday amid reports of stake sale by the Sun group which owns the airline. Spicejet's scrip zoomed 14.96 per cent to settle at Rs 16.06 on the BSE.

During the day, it jumped 19.97 per cent to Rs 16.76. On the volume front, 219.83 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the BSE during the day.

BSE has sought clarification from the company with respect to the media report stating that Spicejet is to sell part/complete stake to an investor.

According to media reports, Sun Group may have finally finalised an investor for partially or completely offloading its stake in SpiceJet. Kal Airways and Kalanithi Maran together hold 53.48 per cent stake in SpiceJet.
