US based telecom software company Sotas Inc said on Wednesday that it would invest $3 million in its research and development unit at Gurgaon besides doubling its headcount to 100 from the current 50.

Manji Matharu, vice president of Sotas said in New Delhi while launching the company's telecom fraud management solutions that the company has so far invested $5 million in India.

Sotas' India customers list includes Reliance Infocomm and Bharti, he said and added that it would also target enterprise customers too.

The company's fraud management solutions -- SecureWave -- will check the frauds with a case-tracking system deriving it from call data recorders.

Using SecureWave, companies could save upto 8-10 per cent of their revenues lost due to fraud annually, Thomas Cady, CEO, Sotas Inc said.

Case tracking system keeps a log of all fraud-related cases and automatically quantifies averted loss by fraud centre agent.

The system then stores and records all fraudulent cases, making information available for reports based on account managers, agents, case categories and customer.

Sotas has an R&D centre in Washington also.
