Seeking to strengthen its position in music, lifestyle and imaging categories of mobile phones, Sony Ecricsson Mobile Communication India unveiled a range of handsets on Tuesday.
The company is looking to double its sales volume in the current year and grow faster than the industry rate of 70-80 per cent on year on year basis.
"With the launch of high-end phones in Cyber-shot series, Walkman series and emotive series, we are aiming to register a strong presence in all these categories and doubling sales target on year on year basis," Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications India General Manager Sudhin Mathur told reporters in New Delhi.
In the walkman phone category, the company unveiled three models -- W580i, W960i and W910i. Slated for launch next month, W580i is priced at Rs 14,000
W910i, which has a storing capacity of 1 GB, would be introduced in the Indian market along with W960i in the fourth quarter. Sony Ericsson has also introduced a Cyber-shot phone -- K850i -- featuring five mega-pixel camera and video blogging.
In the lifestyle category, the company would introduce S500i, featuring 3D games for Rs 14,000, and P1i with a business card scanner for Rs 25,000 next month. Another model, T650i, would be launched in India in the fourth quarter.
