Airfares to Srinagar at all time high

Airfares to Srinagar in Kashmir have increased manifold as the tourist season starts there.

The cost to fly to what is popularly called 'paradise on earth' has increased almost four times the normal cost in the recent couple of weeks.

During May, the airfare from New Delhi to Srinagar was between Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500. June saw the fares shoot up till Rs 14,000 to Rs 15,000.

This trend is seen for the first time in the past four decades.
