If you are planning to visit Singapore, you can now abandon the thought of long visa waits. Beginning April 1, Singapore will introduce the e-visa concept across the country. The initiative by the Singapore government is aimed at enhancing the processing of visa applications.

Under the e-visa system, trusted partners, including visa service providers across India, will be able to submit visa applications online on behalf of their customers. They will also be able to print the approved visas through the SAVE (Submission of Applications for Visa Electronically) system.

The approved e-visa must be produced at the airline counter before the point of departure.

The list of selected partners is available at http://www.mfa.gov.sg/newdelhi, http://www.mfa.gov.sg/mumbai and http://www.mfa.gov.sg/chennai

Commenting on the e-visa initiative, Randall Tall, regional director, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board, said, "We believe business and leisure travellers will gain from this initiative. Singapore has always been the top outbound destination from India and we are optimistic about maintaining this position through the launch of measures like the e-visa."
