Sebi signs MoU with Pakistan counterpart

Securities and Exchange Board of India on Monday inked a memorandum of understanding with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan for mutual cooperation.

The MoU, signed by M Damodaran, Chairman, Sebi and Raiz-ur-Rehman, Head, Pakistan Securities and Exchange Commission, is aimed at facilitating co-operation on regulatory issues.

The agreement aims at enhancing co-operation, consultation and assistance on issues of common interest between the regulators of the two countries.

Sebi had earlier signed similar MoUs with regulatory bodies of 13 countries, including the USA, China, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Nigeria, Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan.
