Satyam's V Aggarwal wins IMA award

Virender Aggarwal, chief of Satyam Computer Services, Asia Pacific, became the first Indian to receive the prestigious International Management Action Award of Singapore.

Aggarwal, director and senior vice president and head of the Asia Pacific operations of Satyam, was presented the award by Cedric Foo, Singapore's minister of state for defence and national development, a Satyam release said.

"Aggarwal is a model of the new manager with the bold, risk-taking bent of an entrepreneur. His success clearly demonstrates his outstanding management capabilities, especially his skills in managing diversity", the IMMA said in its citation.

The other three winners were Tan Pheng Hock, president and CEO Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd, Dr R Theyvendran, chairman and managing director Stamford Press and Thomas Chua Kee Seng, chairman and managing director, Techwah Industrial Corporation Ltd.
