Satyam inks pact with Nissan

March 23, 2006 15:33 IST

Nissan has signed a five-year-deal with Satyam Computer Services Ltd to enhance its key North America business portfolio.

The $80 billion automotive major gets 40 per cent of its revenue from its North America operations.

"Nissan has selected Satyam, a global IT consulting and services company, as its sole partner to manage all its business applications in its key North American market," Subu D Subramanian, director and senior vice president, Satyam (manufacturing and automotive business) told reporters in Chennai.

He, however, declined to provide the size of the deal.

Satyam would deploy 300 to 350 people in North America and in Chennai, to cater to the Nissan operations and this figure would likely go up to 750 in the coming three years, Subramanian said.

The company was setting up a Global Development Centre for Nissan at Marg Square on Chennai's IT highway that would be completed in about six months, he added.
