German software major SAP AG said on Tuesday that it would invest euro 20 million in expanding its facility in Bangalore and that it planned to increase the workforce to 3,000 by 2006.
SAP AG CEO Henning Kagermann told reporters that SAP would make the invest in the phase III of India development centre, located in over 21 acres of land at Whitefield on the outskirts of Bangalore.
The India centre, touted as the largest SAP facility outside Germany, presently has 1,100 developers. The firm plans to increase the headcount to 1,500 by the year-end.
Kagermann said SAP plans to increase its workforce to over 3,000 by 2006.
