Samsung's slimmest phone @ Rs 16,499

Samsung has unveiled its new line of slim mobile phones with the launch of 'The Ultra Edition Series' in New Delhi.

The first model to be launched under the Ultra Edition 6.9 series is priced at Rs 16,499, Samsung Telecommunications India Managing Director H C Ryu said.

The new phone series was unveiled by actress Diya Mirza.

Of the three models to be launched under the new series, the pricing of other two models is yet to be decided he said.

"India is a very critical market for Samsung and the launch of the Ultra Series will meet the growing demands of consumers for sleek phones with premium multimedia capabilities", Ryu said.

The new models would be distributed through the company's 12,000 outlets across the country in about 2000 towns, Samsung's Deputy General Manager Marketing Asim Warsi said.

Samsung's foray into the ultra slim phones is a part of company's strategy to take on the leadership position in the mobile phone market, he said.
