Samsung India Electronics said on Wednesday that it would launch 11 new high-end mobile handsets in the next five months.
"We are planning to launch three new handsets by December this year and another seven during the first quarter of 2005," Samsung India Electronics vice president (telecom) Kunal Ahooja told PTI in New Delhi on the sidelines of the launch of Samsung Fan Club.
With the launch of 11 new handsets, Samsung's portfolio of mobile handsets would go up to 21.
Asked whether the company was planning to set up a mobile handset manufacturing plant, Ahooja refused to comment.
On the Samsung Fan Club, he said the website would enable customers send e-cards, e-messages and download ring tones, wallpapers and games on their mobiles.
Samsung India Electronics has also tied up with noted painter Satish Gujral to allow users to download his paintings on their Samsung mobiles.
The company was also looking at sourcing contents for the Samsung Fun Club website from local and regional developers.
"We currently source the content from 60 developers across the world. But now we would source content from local developers," Ahooja said.
