The Rs 32,000 crore (Rs 320 billion) Sahara India group will launch its national Hindi news channel and six of its planned 31 city-centric satellite news channels across the country on March 28.
The regional news channels will begin with Sahara Samay Uttar Pradesh covering Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Agra, Gorakhpur
and Dehradun, a Sahara release said on Wednesday. Other city-centric channels will be launched in the next four months, the release said.
The group also plans to introduce a 48-page newspaper-size Hindi national weekly, its 30 city editions, an English newsweekly of the same size and frequency and an Urdu international newspaper, it added.
